Date: July 8, 2011

I am pleased to announce that the International University of Nursing (IUON) has been approved by the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) to participate in the Federal Direct Student Loan Program. IUON is the only international nursing school to receive approval from the DOE since the new law allowing foreign nursing schools to participate in the Title IV program came into effect one year ago. The ability to obtain low interest federal loans will allow many more students the opportunity to attend nursing school. This is a great accomplishment for IUON that took years to realize. We are proud that IUON has been  approved by the Department of Education and has now satisfied all the educational requirements to participate in the federal student loan program.

International University of Nursing was the vision of its founder,  Dr. Robert Ross who recently passed away. Today, we honor Dr. Robert Ross, with the achievement of this new milestone in his mission of preparing qualified professionals to meet the growing shortage of our global nursing community.

As of this date, eligible students and parents may now qualify for a variety of student loans including Direct Subsidized Loans, Direct Unsubsidized Loans, and Direct PLUS Loans. Next week the financial aid department will be posting on our website further information on each of these programs including eligibility requirements, FAFSA documentation, and details on the loan application process.

Join us as we celebrate this opportunity for our students to realize their dream of becoming a professional nurse.

Sincerely,

Warren Ross
President
