IUON Welcomes Teresa Boese, MSN, RN
as Director of the Simulation Center for Clinical Interdisciplinary Practice
Teresa Boese has joined IUON as its first director of the Simulation Center for Clinial Interdsciplinary Practice. Ms. Boese comes to IUON from the University of Iowa, where she was an associate professor at the College of Nursing and co-director of the Nursing Clinical Education Center.
Ms. Boese, a leader in simulation center practices, is a founding co-president of the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL). The mission of INACSL is to promote and provide for the development and advancement of clinical simulation and learning resource centers. This association offers members online learning opportunities, the Journal of Simulation in Nursing, tips on managing a Learning Resource center and Simulation Center, and networking opportunities both online and through its annual conference.
In addition to her teaching activities, Ms. Boese acts as a consultant for clinical skills lab educations and is a featured speaker at national clinical simulation laboratory faculty meetings. she has clinical experience in surgical intensive care and orthopedics, and her research interests are in student psychomotor skill acquisition and the transfer of laboratory skills leading to clinical practice.
