Students May Now Apply to the Accelerated Second Degree BSN Program |

IUON is please to offer the Accelerated Second Degree Bachelor in Nursing Program (ABSN) as of January 2010. Students may apply for the ABSN program now.
The Accelerated Second Degree Bachelor in Nursing Program (ABSN) is designed for students who hold a bachelor's degree in another field and want to pursue a career in the profession of nursing. Students can graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in as little as 15 months.
To qualify for the ABSN program, students must have:
- A baccalaureate degree from another college or university with a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Completed the pre-requisite requirements with a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Completed the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS®).
- Completed the these pre-requisites within the past 5 years of the semester of admission:
* (4 credits) Anatomy and Physiology I
* (4 credits) Anatomy and Physiology II
* (3 credits) Nutrition
* (4 credits) Microbiology for Health Sciences
* (4 credits) Chemistry for Health Sciences
* (3 credits) Developmental Psychology
* (3 credits) Statistics
Students accepted to the ABSN program at IUON are awarded 52 transfer credits toward degree completion. ABSN students will complete two semesters at IUON and two semesters at a U.S. partner school. Students will receive a degree from IUON as well as the U.S. partner school.
Upon graduation, students are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN examination.
